How to Start Making Change in Your Life?! Part ! #IYP ‘Longevity’
It’s 2019 – start, start now…it is never to late and life is short!
If it’s REAL you will feel it! it is that simple so no matter who you are reading this at some point something is going to connect with your soul and BOOM you will just know — this shit is for me beacuse it FEELS right ….for me!! This is exactly what happend to me…exactly~
So I think since I can remember I have been a smaller human I am not tall and I am pretty light weight and since I started playing sports as a youth and then teenager I was always by far the smallest and this still applies to this day. The thing is I always equated that beacuse I was skinny then- ‘sweet I am healthy’… I always just assumed that being overweight was not good for your health, but if you were not then you were fine and all those who taught me in the sports I was in; soccer, downhill skiing, running, never even once told me different, and thinking back I can not ever remember anyone talking to me about diet (it may have happened but I do not remember it).
So we fast forward to when I was about to turn 16- I am no longer living at home, food was not even on my thought list, I was just happy to put something into my stomach 1 -2 times a day and because I had a job at a coffee shop I was able to eat there most evenings. Yet not taking into account what I was eating just happy to eat. This goes on and on for years, I finish high school just barely and then I need to make some money as I start wanting and yearning to record music. So I learn a trade at 18. I am so young and green that I just do what the older people around me do in the studio’s and at work…and looking back know that I have knowledge damn I was eating so so so bad but I was coasting off youth so I was able to maintain those bad habits, poor snack choice’s, poor eating time’s, and poor food quality choice’s. Ok I hit 23 I have been touring recording, when I am not doing that I still work here and there to put money away for the next song type deal…but here is when I first start to notice things are changing in my body and not for the better.
I am sleeping on couches and floors everywhere I tour, so my sleep is terrible and I am getting very little of it as you do show’s late then you party then you hit the after party. I am always eating at fast food joints and I am drinking a lot beacuse we always had a tab as part of the show fee. Staying up late mean’s eating late after you are half cut and it’s like 3:30 AM …WE HUNGRY YO!! PIZZA time cuz that’s all that’s open. This is the first memory of the first issue, my body telling me something is not right…When I get back to my own home after the last get away at 23 I go to lift a ladder and I pull my back…this had never happend before, ever. Then boom its happens again in like 2 months when I get back this time I can hardly move my neck, hardly walk not very fun. I start mentioning this to people and the first words out of all the guys in the studio or the job site’s is ahhh your just getting old…dude I’m 23 really that’s old? OK. I don’t know any better so I just think well must be that. Next -one night and thank the heaven’s up above I was at home for this but I noticed I was not going to the bathroom regularly -again thinking nothing of it until maybe 3 nights later I was up all night in brutal pain from cramps I think I had not been to the bathroom in like 2–3 days and could not go. I slept on my bathroom floor…well layed all night not sleeping on my bathroom floor. I got the nerve up to call my mom and she said to me it’s normal for this -just drink some prune juice. Again I am young and I just listen to those who are older than me and I trust. So I do it.
Not correlating or having the knowledge to even understand the reason why…do you get it?? Did I get it??. I mean really I did not even have step 1, day 1 figured out and yet all I was and we do as a society in gerneal is look for the band aid to fix -never ever looking for the issue that has casued it. I could go off on that topic it is how our medical system has raised us…we are now in a place where we don’t have the basic knowledge to make proper day to day decisions for our own health and nutrition —
